My Fair Diva Drag

My Fair Lady has always been a musical of great fascination for me (Porter). When Stealya REACHED OUT TO US AND expressed the theme FOR bALTIMORE’S pERFORMER OF THE yEAR PAGEANT was ‘all things leather & lace’, I immediately thought of the elegance in Cecil Beaton’s iconic Academy Award winning derby gown & hat made for Audrey Hepburn in the film.

We then took that Inspo on a dark & twisty trip through gothic colors, illusion lace hinting at a near-naked silhouette, monochromatic striped satin bow sash, and longer, more dramatic detached sleeves. The hat itself features layers of gathered organza in red and black, illusion lace overlay, silk flowers, ostrich feathers, and (yes, really!) a tiny feathered Cardinal figure.
