Sometimes a look starts with a complete vision intact. Other times, we build it as we go and the piece tells us what it wants to be. This jacket was one of those serendipitous times that majorly paid off!

The pattern for this coat is completely drafted in house, so we really went all in on the features. We had grabbed the bolt of this glorious black and blue plaid check taffeta from Scrap Baltimore without any particular project in mind….it was just screaming to be something!

XL moto jacket inspired lapels lay fully open, while double-draped mutton chop sleeves end in a black illusion mesh ruffled sleeve cuff with holographic paillette sequins. The movement of this jacket seriously LIT up under stage lighting!

Each shoulder features a coordinating illusion mesh panel to continue the moto jacket vibes, but the versatility of this coat is really what makes it a gem. A false hem at the natural waist conceals d ring loops and coordinating ribbon for a single-hand, one-pull reveal option that completely removes the coat tail.
