There’s nothing quite as special as when a couple reaches out to you for help with one of the most treasured days of their lives. It’s extra exciting for us when that means we’re one of the first folks to know that someone is planning a secret wedding day!
That was exactly the case for Dylan & braxton. this couple decided on a conservatory elopement with their closest family and friends (on fairly short notice) and were struggling to find outfits that really represented who they are. We were able to work within strict timeline and budget constraints to help the couple both find suit bases that could be altered and embellished in time for their big day.
Dylan’s requests were to stay true to their masc-of-center, bubblegum-goth aesthetic. They had been searching for days without any options that really hit the mark
Dylan’s final look featured a tailored black jacket with corset laced front. The jacket’s shoulders and back yoke were embellished with hand-tied bows and individually placed chain in various widths. Our favorite surprise detail? We were able to use remnant fabric from the design for their groom’s suit when we added hip panels. This brought an amazing but subtle additional pop of color to the look while being an extra sweet memory detail for the couple.
Braxton knew exactly what he wanted to wear on his big day - pink! After helping track down the perfect suit base (linen, ralph lauren) Braxton had us both alter & embellish the jacket and pants to fulfill his vision.
illusion lace made with hundreds of embroidered flowers in their wedding colors was used to accent jacket cuffs, hem, and pant leg hems via hand-stitched applique. The back vents of the jacket and cuff button holes/buttons were all preserved in the process of alterations and an invisible hem was created to shorten the jacket appropriately.
